Women's Addiction Treatment
A Mission to Heal
With a more than 25-year history in Costa Mesa, California, Safe Harbor Treatment Center has transformed thousands of women’s lives. Our programs use a basis of unconditional love and safety, specifically catering to the psychological, physiological and emotional needs of women.
Women will receive an endless amount of love and support while gaining the life skills and strength they need to lead a successful life during their long-lasting sobriety. We acknowledge that each woman who visits us has individual gifts and beauty, and it is our privilege to remind them of those strengths.
Our success as a leader in gender specific programming is credited to our variety of treatment offerings, allowing for a truly personalized experience for each and every woman that enters our doors.
Men and women recover differently, which is why gender separate programming proves to be more effective. This provides a safe space for women to empower one another, build a support system, develop friendships and address gender-specific issues in an understanding environment.
We encourage women 18 and over to start their journey to health and wellness at Safe Harbor, our doors are always open.
What Problems Do Women Face In Addiction?
A woman’s experience with addiction can be markedly different from a man’s. For example, women use smaller amounts of drugs and alcohol for less time than men before they become addicted. They may also develop strong cravings for drugs and alcohol in less time than men normally do. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, women are more likely to relapse after rehab. These differences between men and women present a challenge, which is why we approach women’s treatment a bit differently than men’s. For unique problems, women need unique solutions. Our Women’s Addiction Treatment Program is designed to help you heal past traumas, address self-destructive behaviors, and heal in a safe environment. Here are some problems women face in addiction:
What Happens During Our Women’s Treatment Program?
Our treatment is founded on one principle: Giving you the lifelong skills needed to overcome addiction and live a free, vibrant life. We’re believers in true holistic therapies that truly unite the mind, body, and spirit. You’ll individually see your case manager, psychiatrist, and spiritual director up to 3 times per week. Best of all, you’re in a comfortable setting that’s far disconnected from the outside world. We give you the protection and privacy needed to heal in peace.
We treat the mind by administering behavioral-based psychotherapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy will alter your attitudes and disable negative thought patterns. You’ll have a dedicated psychiatrist to help you find new, better ways to deal with trauma and establish positive thinking habits.
We treat the body through an assortment of physical training and restorative yoga. We hold many of our fitness sessions on the beach, which is only a few miles from the facility.
We treat the spirit through meditation and coaching from our spiritual director. We believe addiction is a symptom of “Soul Sickness”, so it’s crucial that we treat this by nourishing the soul and helping you connect with your most authentic self.
