Fitness for Recovery
Fitness is offered at Safe Harbor Treatment Center as a practice to help develop the connection between mind and body. In addition to the physical benefits, exercise is known for contributing to the overall reduction in stress. Requiring discipline and patience exercise benefits our recovering client in many ways. We have found that those who participate in a regular exercise routine have noticed improvement in mental awareness, clarity and self-esteem. All of which support the process of recovery and healthy living.
Yoga is a key element in our approach of Holistic Healing. In many cultures, Yoga is used to strengthen the connection between body and mind. In addition to the practice of poses, Yoga Meditation is also used in many areas of recovery. Yoga is the balance between mind and body; mentally and physically providing group members with a time of reflection and connection. We have found the benefits of yoga to be endless, including the reduction of stress, physical strength, mental awareness, and clarity.
