Men and women recover differently, which is why gender separate programming proves to be more effective. This provides a safe space for women to empower one another, build a support system, develop friendships and address gender-specific issues in an understanding environment. With more than 25 years of operation in Costa Mesa, California, Safe Harbor Treatment Center has transformed thousands of women’s lives.
Our programs use a basis of unconditional love and safety, specifically catering to the psychological, physiological and emotional needs of women.
Telehealth involves the use of technologies such as telephone-based services, videoconferencing, texting, smartphone applications and web-based tools to provide addiction care. This allows us to treat patients over a distance without requiring a physical visit to our facility. Call us to learn more about this exciting technology!

For more than 27 years, Safe Harbor Treatment Center has been dedicated to helping people recover from substance use disorders and the underlying issues that can lead to addiction. Our goal is to restore spiritual well-being, self-worth, and the ability to thrive in a life of fulfillment through unconditional love, acceptance, and evidence-based treatment.
Every individual who participates in programming at Safe Harbor will meet with our Psychiatrist upon admission. Clients will be assessed and a detailed, thorough history will be obtained. This includes previous diagnosis, current emotional, physical and psychological presentation as well as current and past medications. Upon conclusion of the assessment a treatment plan regarding observation, detox and medication management will be made. Ongoing visits with the psychiatrist will be determined by the client’s treatment plan, medication management protocols and the individual needs of the client.
In addition to participating in their own process, psychodrama offers clients the opportunity to be an integral part of supporting others in their healing process. Exchanges take place that allow an individual to see a new perspective on a situation. Clients are able to release much of the energy and pain they hold in connection to trauma or other painful memories. In doing so, individuals begin to experience healing and understanding. Shame begins to transform into self-acceptance.
We provide the tools and teach the necessary life skills needed to create and maintain a stable routine that ensures longevity in recovery. Our goal is to help clients understand the importance of responsibility and self-discipline. These qualities will serve them in achieving goals, maintaining sobriety, self-care and living a life with reduced stress and chaos. Areas of support include:
