Safe Harbor is a licensed 90-day extended care drug rehab and chemical dependency program designed exclusively to nurture the needs of recovering women. Research and experience tells us that women turn their addictions inward. We believe that these self-destructive behaviors are just a symptom of a woman's deep beliefs about herself. Women internalize their shame, which often leads to deep depression, suicide attempts, destructive relationship patterns and many more negative consequences. At Safe Harbor, we focus on maintaining physical and emotional sobriety for every women suffering from drug and alcohol addictions.
Our staff includes qualified and experienced professionals, and our approach is one of emotional and spiritual depth. The clinical staff at Safe Harbor has developed a Phase System, which helps create the opportunity for a smooth and successful transition through the completion of treatment. The length of each Phase is contingent upon a client's consistency in all areas of each Phase.
Treatment is divided into 3 Phases:

We believe that healing begins from the inside and lovingly break through the barriers which keep you feeling alone and isolated. At Safe Harbor, you will begin to develop the tools necessary to help begin your own journey through recovery and life. Our experience shows women grow profoundly in this atmosphere that we have created.
Society can view the causes of alcoholism and addiction in women as being morally deficient as drug and alcohol abuse is often seen as a social problem. Women often hear their friends and family members saying, "if they would just stop using drugs and drinking, their life will get better". if only it were that easy for a woman active in her disease of addiction! Recovery from a substance at an addiction treatment center is a process involving a sequence of small steps where women gain control over their substance use and increase their confidence. To recover, women need to learn to believe in themselves, be prepared to struggle and be determined to reach their goals. This process of overcoming addiction takes time and support and preventing relapse or a return to substance use is the goal of our addiction treatment center. For a client to feel uncertain or hesitant about making this change is normal. Deciding to change is a big step and our addiction treatment center in California recognizes that this change and recovery is a process in overcoming the causes of alcoholism in women.
Our Pledge: We the Women of Safe Harbor pledge to honor, respect and hold in value every shared and spoken word. We provide a safe space for open communication of our thoughts, feelings and ideas. We treat ourselves and each other with caring and respect. We recognize that sometimes feelings are like the tenderest of budding flowers. So we encourage their expression with acceptance, listening and soft nurturing.
